Create a Bite

Every Bite starts with a screen recording. DemoBites gives you three ways to create one: record with the native recorder, capture with the Chrome Extension, or upload an existing recording.

Recording options

Choose the method that best fits your workflow:

Native recorder

The fastest way to create a Bite. No downloads, no extensions, just click and record.

1. 1Open the DemoBites dashboard and click "New Bite".
2. 2Choose "Record Screen" from the creation menu.
3. 3Select which screen, window, or browser tab to capture.
4. 4Click "Start Recording", a countdown gives you time to prepare.
5. 5Perform your demo. Click "Stop" when you're done.
6. 6The recording uploads automatically and processing begins.

Chrome Extension

Record straight from your browser. The Chrome Extension adds a powerful layer on top of screen recording: it captures your actual mouse interactions, clicks, scrolls, hovers, and transforms them into animated visual highlights in your final Bite. Recordings upload automatically and flow through the same zero-question pipeline as the native recorder.

This is especially useful for product walkthroughs where you want to guide the viewer’s eye to exactly where the action happens. Instead of just showing a static cursor, the extension creates pulse animations and click indicators that make your demos more engaging.

Already have a screen recording? Upload it directly.

2. 2Drag and drop your file or browse to select it.
3. 3Processing begins automatically, same AI pipeline as recorded Bites.

Once your recording is processed, you’ll be taken to the Bite Studio, the editing environment where you refine narration, adjust zoom, and polish your Bite before exporting.
