Workspaces
A workspace is the top-level container in DemoBites. Everything, demos, your Update Center and Explore Center, Hubs, Pulse, and branding, belongs to a workspace.
What is a workspace?
Think of a workspace as your team’s project home. It contains all your content, applies consistent branding, and manages who has access. Most teams use a single workspace, but agencies or multi-brand companies may use several.
Content container
All demos, Spotlights, Hubs, and both centers live inside a workspace.
Brand identity
A brand kit, auto-extracted from your site, sets colors, fonts, logo, and favicon.
Team access
Invite unlimited teammates with per-area permissions, free from Grow up. Starter is a single seat.
Public presence
A name derived URL slug, plus a custom domain on every plan.
Creating a workspace
- 1Sign into DemoBites and click the workspace switcher in the top navigation.
- 2Click "Create Workspace" and enter a name.
- 3Choose the workspace's primary language, one of nine. It's set once at creation and drives transcription and voiceover for everything you record, no questions asked at upload time.
- 4A URL slug is derived from the workspace name (e.g., "acme-corp"). You can rename it later, old links redirect automatically.
- 5DemoBites builds a brand kit from your website automatically. Adjust colors, fonts, and logo anytime in settings.
- 6Your workspace starts on Starter. Upgrade anytime from the billing page.
Slugs & renaming
The workspace slug is the public URL segment for your Update Center, Explore Center, and other published pages. It’s derived from your workspace name, and unlike most platforms, it is not locked in forever.
- Rename the slug at any time from workspace settings.
- Every old URL automatically 301-redirects to the new one, published links, bookmarks, and embeds keep working.
- On every plan, you can put a custom domain in front, so the slug disappears from your public URLs entirely.
Renaming is safe. When you change a slug, DemoBites sets up automatic 301 redirects from the old address, so links you’ve already shared never break. Change your display name, change your slug, or both, whenever you rebrand.
Team members
Invite teammates by email to collaborate on a workspace. Each teammate gets a role and per-area permissions, see Collaborators & RBAC for the full model.
- Invitations are sent via email, the recipient signs up or signs in to join.
- One user can belong to multiple workspaces (e.g., an agency managing several brands).
- Admins can remove team members at any time.
- Teammates are free on every plan, billing is based on your plan's published demos, not seats.
Workspace settings
The workspace settings page lets you manage:
General
Workspace display name, description, and logo.
Brand kit
Theme color, typography (heading and body fonts), and favicon, auto-extracted from your site, editable anytime.
Public URL
Rename your workspace slug, old links 301-redirect to the new address automatically.
Custom domain
Map your own domain to serve content from your brand URL. Available on every plan.
Team
Invite, manage, and remove team members, and set their per-area permissions.
Billing
View your current plan, manage the subscription, and see published demo usage.
Multiple workspaces
Grow and Scale include unlimited workspaces, Starter has one. Common scenarios for running more than one:
- Agencies managing content for multiple clients, each client gets their own branded workspace.
- Companies with separate products, each product line has its own workspace with distinct branding.
- Internal vs. external content, keep customer-facing content separate from internal training.
Use the workspace switcher in the top navigation to switch between workspaces instantly. Each workspace is completely independent, separate content, separate brand kit, separate public URL, and its own Update Center and Explore Center.
Enablement Center access
Your Update Center and Explore Center are always open. The Enablement Center is the gated one: your teams and partners sign in with a magic link and can enter while they are on an active assignment, no allowlist to keep. The gate covers only the Enablement Center on our domain, never your public centers or your custom domain.
Workspaces & billing
Billing is plan based. Your plan sets which features unlock and how many demo pages you can publish; workspaces are unlimited on every plan. Teammates never cost extra on any plan.
